Alessandra Spalletta, journalist and sinologist, is a graduate of the University of Roma La Sapienza in 'Oriental Languages and Cultures', and from Soas – University of London with an MSc in 'International Management for China'.

She lived in China from 2004 to 2008 where she specialized in Chinese Language at BLCU (Beijing). She worked as an Economic Researcher for Osservatorio Asia in Beijing and – at a later stage - as Chief Representative for the Mandarin Fund in Shanghai (first Sino-Italian private equity fund).

After returning to Rome, she worked at Italian leading news agency AGI’s China desk, covering news and writing stories about Asia and China. She currently works for the External Communication Department at Eni.
